Dylan Scott: From Humble Beginnings To Country Music Stardom

Dylan Scott Lets His Traditional Roots Show With Can't Have Mine

Dylan Scott was just 23 when he dropped his first radio single, and he’s learning he did very 23-year-old type things. His journey in the music industry began with the release of “Makin’ This Boy Go Crazy,” which made waves on satellite radio but didn't quite catch fire on terrestrial stations. It took a few more years before his single “My Girl” finally topped the charts, marking a significant turning point in his career. With several hits under his belt, including two more that followed on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, Scott has steadily established himself as a force in the country music scene.

Reflecting on his earlier career, Scott notes that if his current single, "This Town's Been Too Good to Us," were to be his last, he would feel a sense of peace that he didn’t possess a decade ago. In an interview with Taste of Country Nights host Evan Paul, he candidly shared how he would advise his younger self to take a step back and relax. “Don’t stress as much. Be patient,” he recalls, acknowledging that his earlier self was often consumed with anxiety about his career trajectory.

Despite his success, which includes a growing fanbase on YouTube with 620K followers and four Platinum singles, Scott has managed to stay grounded. He has never been nominated for a CMA Award and has received only a couple of ACM nominations in the New Male Artist of the Year category over the past two years. The humble artist credits his three children for helping him maintain perspective, stating that fatherhood has reshaped his songwriting and view on fame. “It’s kind of mellowed me out. It’s like, whatever happens, happens,” the 33-year-old shares.
