Steve Sanders left behind a successful career and a troubled personal legacy when he died on June 10, 1998. As a former member of the renowned Oak Ridge Boys, Sanders made significant contributions to the country music scene. By the early 1980s, Sanders joined the Oak Ridge Boys as a sideman guitarist and eventually took over vocal duties after the departure of singer William Lee Golden.
