When Garth Brooks appeared on the Kelly Clarkson Show's Rockstar Roulette segment, he spun a wheel to choose a random artist to cover, landing on the beloved pop star Adele. What seemed like a light-hearted moment quickly turned into a humorous and touching story about his daughter and their shared love for music. During the interview, Brooks revealed that Adele is a bit of a sore spot for him, stemming from a conversation he had with his youngest daughter many years ago.

As Brooks tuned up his guitar, he reflected on a memory from over a decade ago when his daughter excitedly rushed home from school. She said, “Dad, you’ve got to hear this song from Adele. I’ve never heard a song like it!” Naturally curious, Brooks asked for the title, only to discover it was “To Make You Feel My Love,” a song he had famously covered back in 1998, achieving great success with it.

Interestingly, Adele's version of “To Make You Feel My Love” is not the original; the song was first recorded by Bob Dylan in 1997. However, Brooks' version had earned him a No. 1 hit on the country charts and multiple award nominations. He humorously noted how both his own rendition and Trisha Yearwood’s cover went unnoticed by his daughter, while Adele's version left her in awe. As a fan of Adele himself, Brooks found it hard to hold it against her!
