Craig Morgan and his family have been incredibly open and vulnerable about the devastating loss of their son, Jerry, in 2016. This tragic event has not only impacted their lives but has also inspired many others facing similar grief. In an emotional interview, Morgan's wife, Karen, shared her immediate concern upon hearing the news of Jerry's death—finding his body. This heartfelt revelation sets the stage for a story filled with love, faith, and healing.

Nineteen-year-old Jerry Greer went missing on July 10, 2016, after a tubing accident at Kentucky Lake, Tennessee. The family, who live in the small rural community of Dickson, faced the agonizing uncertainty of his disappearance. Despite being pulled along behind a boat while wearing a life jacket, Jerry did not resurface after falling into the water. The search for him involved multiple agencies and the family coming together in hope and desperation. Tragically, his body was discovered late on the following day.

As Karen Greer reflected on those harrowing moments, she expressed the sheer determination to find her son, stating, “We just had to find him.” This quest was not only for her own peace but also for the sake of their three other children—Alex, Kyle, and Wyatt. Karen's desire to locate Jerry's body stemmed from a longing to provide closure for their family. The thought of receiving a phone call six months later with even more devastating news was unimaginable.

Throughout this journey, Karen revealed a deeply personal aspect of their family’s faith. Jerry wore a Saint Michael medallion daily, a symbol of protection in Catholicism. The loss of this necklace added to their pain, especially when Jerry had mentioned losing it just days before the tragedy. Karen’s conversations with their son Kyle about God’s role in Jerry’s death showcase the struggle many families face in reconciling faith with loss. They have leaned heavily on their beliefs to navigate their grief and find strength in each other.

In the aftermath, Craig Morgan turned his focus from music to a more hands-on approach to coping. He found solace in carving, which transformed into a family project. They opened the Gallery at Morgan Farms in downtown Dickson, creating a space that honors Jerry while providing a shared goal for the family. This venture has not only facilitated their healing but is also the subject of the upcoming reality TV series titled Morgan Family Strong, set to premiere on March 1 on UP TV.

As Karen shared her hopes for the show, she emphasized the importance of faith and resilience. “I think we, as a family, hope that the viewers get the essence of faith and that you can do it, you can pull yourself together and make something good,” she said. Their journey is a powerful reminder of the strength found in family and faith, even in the darkest of times.
