Tracy Byrd And Wife Michele Injured In Texas Car Accident

In a shocking turn of events, country music star Tracy Byrd and his wife Michele were involved in a serious car accident in Texas on Tuesday afternoon. Reports from 12 News Now in Beaumont reveal that the couple was driving northbound on Highway 69 in a Ford Excursion when another vehicle, driven by a woman in a Toyota, turned left onto 327, crossing directly into their path. This unfortunate incident occurred shortly after 1 PM, leading to a collision that left them both injured.

Following the accident, Byrd, Michele, and the other driver, 64-year-old Jolliette Capo, were promptly taken to the hospital. Fortunately, their injuries were categorized as non-life-threatening; however, Michele underwent two surgeries on her left foot as a direct result of the crash. Later that evening, she took to Facebook to express her gratitude to those who reached out in support, stating how blessed she felt during this challenging time.

In the aftermath of the accident, Capo received a citation for failing to yield the right of way. Community members voiced their concerns about the intersection's safety, citing it as a hazardous area where several accidents have occurred. Residents suggested that a stop sign would be more appropriate than the current yield sign, with some mentioning that multiple fatalities had taken place at that very intersection. As of Wednesday, neither Byrd nor Capo were listed as patients at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
