Aaron Lewis' touring year is coming to an abrupt end. The singer and Staind frontman announced on Wednesday (Dec. 6) that he’s postponing the remaining dates on his American Patriot Acoustic Tour in order to focus on doctor-ordered vocal rest. The decision follows a busy year for Lewis, who has recorded a new Staind album and a solo album, in addition to performing over 150 shows.
"Life has reminded me I’m creeping up on 52," Lewis says in a statement. "After recording a new Staind album, a new solo album and playing 150-plus shows this year, my doctors have insisted I take this month off to give my voice some much-needed rest before I do damage to my cords."
Lewis expressed his disappointment but emphasized the importance of listening to medical advice. "It kills me to say this, but I have to listen to the professionals," he continues. "Have a great holiday season and I look forward to seeing everyone in 2024."
Seven dates are affected by the postponements, with all but one already having rescheduled dates set in 2024. The remaining show, originally planned for Dec. 17 in Saginaw, Mich., has been canceled. However, fans in Saginaw can look forward to a second show that was scheduled for Dec. 16, which has now been moved to Aug. 10, 2024. All tickets purchased for Lewis' December tour stops will be honored on their respective rescheduled dates. More information can be found on Lewis' website.
